Course
Description:
This course
teaches the Theory of Operation; Proper Component Removal and
Replacement Procedures; Operating System Installation and
Configuration; and Hardware Troubleshooting for the current line of
Dell Latitude and Inspiron Notebooks.
Prerequisites:
This course is
designed for IS professionals with a computer support background and
who have technical expertise in diagnosing and servicing computer
systems. Participants should have a working knowledge of
computer fundamentals and a computer support background. This
course is not designed for new technicians.
Course Outline and Objectives:
Module1 -
Removal and Replacement Procedures: Dell Latitude
Upon successful
completion of this module, students will be able to:
- Use available diagnostic software to identify failed
components
- Remove and replace all field serviceable components
Module 2 -
Operating System Installation and Configuration: Dell
Latitude
Upon successful
completion of this module, students will be able to:
- Install and configure an operating system
- Install and configure required drivers
Module 3 -
Diagnostics and Hardware Troubleshooting
Upon successful
completion of this module, students will be able to:
- Apply basic troubleshooting techniques and procedures
- Identify and resolve hardware conflicts
- Identify and replace failed components
Module 4 -
