Certification Steps

Step
1: Register for Participation back

To participate in the DCSE Program, and gain access to the content
in the DCSE web site, you must register.
Enroll online in the Register Now
section. You will receive a TechID and Personal Identification
Number (PIN) through email confirmation. These numbers must
be used when you want to access the secure areas of the site
that include special bulletins, training schedules, DCSE materials
and online testing.

2: Satisfy the Prerequisites back

Candidates for the Associate DCSE certification will be expected
to have working knowledge of the following:
- PC fundamentals, including at least one major operating
system
- PC service procedures
- Industry terminology
Step
3: Complete Associate Training back

You have a choice of either instructor-led classroom, or self-study,
training sessions. The training is designed to performance-based
learning objectives, which are tested in the Associate level
certification exam.
Step
4: Achieve Associate Level Certification back
to top
To demonstrate mastery of the learning objectives, you must
successfully pass an Associate DCSE certification exam.
The online examination will be accessed from the DCSE web site.
A second attempt is permitted within a specified time if you
fail the first examination. You will be required to take the
instructor-led classroom training if you fail the second attempt.

5: Maintain Your Associate Level Certification

To maintain your Associate DCSE certification, technicians must
continue to complete training and exams for new product modules
added to the particular Associate DCSE product category.
If you don't complete training and pass the exam for new modules
within the announced timeframes your Associate DCSE certification
will be suspended.
