Q. Can I get the self study materials in PDF format to download?

A. All self study materials are in html format only.


Q. How do I get the self study kit?

A. All self study materials are available online. Once you log into the DCSE website with your tech id and pin number, click "associate self study materials"


Q. How many tests do I have to take to become DCSE?

A.

  • If you want to certify in Desktops, you will need to take the Associate V5.0 OptiPlex, Associate V5.0 Dimension and Associate V5.0 Workstations.
  • If you want to certify in Servers, you will need to take the Associate Server V5.0 Part 1 and Part 2.
  • If you want to certify in Portables, you will need to take the Associate V5.0 Latitude and the Associate V5.0 Inspiron.


Q. Is it $179 per exam? I've already paid for one exam and when I request the second part, I'm still getting the billing screen.

A. The $179 fee covers all Associate exams for all product lines. The system is set up to require billing information for every request as a tracking method. You are not charged after the inital fee.


Q. How do I get a tech id number?

A. Go to http://dcse.dell.com and click "register today"


Q. What is my customer number?

A. A customer number is assigned to you when you or your company purchase Dell equipment. It can be found on any Dell invoice.


Q. If I become a DCSE for my accounts what are the major benefits to myself & the client?

A. The DCSE program works in concert with the DSP program and the Warranty Parts Direct program to train and certify the field service technicians that are doing the servicing of our systems. As long as you are in one of these groups, you will be able to benefit from this program with regards to servicing.


Q. How can I do service work for Dell?

A. All warranty repair arrangements are made through Dell Technical Support and supported by Dell Service Providers. We use six Global Service Partners to service our Customers. We do not offer a warranty repair program for individuals, Service Providers or for Depot centers. We do not offer a product service-contracting program nor are we seeking field-based service technicians to support Dell systems.

Q. How do I cancel my order if I can’t attend the class for some reason?

Cancellation Policy

The following cancellation charges will apply:
Number of full Working Days between receipt by Dell Training & Certification of notice of cancellation and the commencement of the training: Percentage of Course Fees to be refunded:
Before 14 days 100%
14 - 10 days 50%
9 - 0 days 0%

PLEASE NOTE: Working Days means everyday of the week except Saturday, Sunday and Statutory Holidays.

Once a course has started and a student fails to attend or withdraws, the full amount of the course will be payable.

TRANSFERRING COURSES: Prior to the start of the cancellation period (14 days prior to start of class), Students can request to transfer their course date to another date without incurring cancellation penalties. However, once within the cancellation period the student will incur cancellation charges (as listed above) unless the student's company can replace the original attendee with another student from their company.

Students attending courses must meet the pre-requisites for the courses as outlined in the course overview.

Terms and Conditions

  1. A completed registration form is required to secure the class. Dell Training & Certification reserves the right to cancel a class if a signed registration form is not received.
  2. A purchase order or written confirmation agreeing payment terms is required prior to the delivery of the class.
  3. Purchase Orders received will be valid for 12 months from the date of issue.
  4. Appropriate tax will be included where applicable.
  5. CANCELLATION PENALTIES: Please refer to above.

If We Cancel Your Course

Occasionally it may be necessary for Dell Training & Certification to cancel your course (i.e. if registrations do not reach a required level). In this event, we will give you at least 5 working days notice of the cancellation, and will offer an alternative date. If the alternatives given are not convenient, the student may cancel their seat at no charge.
